Learning Support Subcommittee aims to raise a group of trained and committed parent volunteers, equipped to assist the teacher in:-
- classroom management and to work with children, including those with special learning needs; and
- helping boys to achieve linguistic and numeracy literacy.
Teacher Aide Programme (“TA Programme”)
Learning Support Programme
These programmes are conducted daily during recess. Trained parent volunteers provide support for boys in:-
- Reading Warriors Programme, which caters to Primary 1 and 2 boys who need extra help in developing their reading skills. Boys start with the fundamentals of phonics, progressing to buddy reading and eventually to developing comprehension skills. Parent volunteers are required to undergo training on phonics and serve at least once a week during recess time: 8:30-9:30am. Training will be provided.
- Learning Support (Math) Programme, targeted at developing and improving the numeracy skills of Primary 1 boys. Parent volunteers are required to serve at least once a week during morning hours from 7 – 7.30am. Training will be provided.
We seek parents who have a passion to work with young children and are willing to partner the school and actively assist the boys in their learning journey at ACS (Primary).
